SEAL is a first-class, innovative employability programme designed for those looking to pursue a legal career after graduating.
The programme aims to provide a practical experience and insight into the recruitment processes that graduate recruiters use, as well as providing thorough, individualised feedback to those who complete the programme.
SEAL has been developed through a partnership with Gradcore and a number of associates who have a background in legal graduate recruitment. Gradcore is a social enterprise focused on maximising the potential of graduates for business, universities and places.
Their roots go back to 1996 when they were founded by a group of university careers services to mend connections between graduates and SMEs. They have since gone through a series of evolutions and now work with a broad range of universities and employers across the UK. They have experience running a number of other large-scale employability programmes for universities and have partnered with more than 50 UK universities from all Mission Groups.
The associates who have worked alongside Gradcore to design the programme, alongside the programme assessors, all have a background in graduate recruitment, and predominately within the legal profession.
The exercises and assessments have been designed to reflect their experiences of recruiting law students and those pursuing a legal career for organisations such as Allen & Overy, Freshfields, PwC, Linklaters and Deloitte. The programme has been designed with insight from legal professionals and those who have developed training and development programmes within professional services.
